I have just found my HG luminizer / highlighter / illuminator! (    ऀืົཽ  ヮ   ऀืົཽ  )✧

from theBalm website

Meet Mary-Lou Manizer, a seemingly innocent honey-hued luminizer that catches everybody’s eye. This highlighter, shadow and shimmer diffuses light so your skin looks softer and younger while adding a subtle glow. layer it on your lids for luxe-looking lashes, sweep it on your cheeks for a sexy sheen or use it as an all-over finishing touch before you head out for the night.

yes, it only costs P895! so much bang for the buck!

I thought the compact was actually made out or tin or some other metal but really, it’s just silver-colored plastic. The label too is a sticker so i best keep this away from oils, i like my  stuff looking pretty! (✿◠‿◠)

There’s a big mirror inside..

The powder is a neutral, honey shimmer. It’s not as shimmery as my other highlighter though, which is a plus because it reduces the illusion of being oily. Sometimes when powders are too shimmery, it tends to make the skin look too shiny! *:・゚✧

the powder is tad bit peach-er in person but the shimmer is translucent.

super blendable too.

Highly pigmented, not super sparkly, super sheen-y! So glad i went there while they had stocks because, the last time I went there they were all out ⊙﹏⊙

and oh! BTW I got this from Beauty Bar, Trinoma. ( ^ ᴗ^)

i couldn’t control it, it was on sale!! I got this for only P250 :D This is the same as Coastal Scents’ Camo Quad Color Correct, but this one’s generic (but we all know brands like Coastal Scents, Dollface, Suesh, etc get their palettes from China, brand them, and sell them at immensely irrational prices).

This is quite bigger than i expected. The case is flimsy plastic and I’m betting that the hinge will come loose sooner or later.

it comes in four primary color correcting shades: mint green, sky blue, lavender, and pale yellow.

From CS:

Our innovative Color Corrector Quad contains four creamy hues to conceal and correct any flaw. All four shades are stored in our travel friendly compact and can be easily applied with any concealer brush in your collection.

  • The mint green shade counteracts redness from rosacea, blemishes, or capillaries around the nose and cheek areas.
  • The pale yellow shade is used to conceal black, blue, or purple imperfections such as bruises.
  • The lavender shade evens out yellowish skin tones, corrects olive skin, and offers an overall balanced finish and healthful glow.
  • The sky blue shade counteracts orange tones typically caused from uneven or excessive tanning or self-tanning.

It’s creamy and highly pigmented, mind you. This isn’t supposed to be used as a concealer i.e. slapping it on your blemishes because the color will definitely show. use it as a corrector rather, just dab a bit over whatever you need to hide to mask the color a bit.

The seller also threw in one of these for P50:

a generic eyeshadow cream/ eyelid primer from the same brand (it’s not even a brand). really smooth and buttery. will try it out tomorrow!

Ingredients

Squalane, Octyl Palmitate, Beeswax, Talc, Polymethyl Methacrylate, Petrolatum, Propylparaben. May Contain: Titanium Dioxide, Iron Oxides.

Dimensions

2.94” in diameter

Net Weight

12.5g / 0.44oz

I was looking for a bronzer/contouring powder to practice with (because i’m pale as hell right now, thanks to the constant raining) when I stumbled upon ELF Studio Contouring Blush & Bronzer duo. This used to be only available in one shade but apparently they now call the original “St. Lucia”. It cost me only 249.75php, not bad for something to practice with. ヽ(*・ω・)ノ

The palette is pretty big, as shown below side by side with the ELF Studio Blush and a fullsize NARS Blush (which is now really dirty, i hate NARS’ packaging, the rubber melts and gathers powders! ᕙ(⇀‸↼‶)ᕗ )

Inside is a pretty big mirror. The packaging is flimsy plastic and i feel like im gonna break it each time i open it. The pans are actually bigger than the NARS blush and bronzer duo.

with flash:

The blush is a dusty peachy pink with fine gold sheen and shimmer. The bronzer is a dusty brown with the same kind of shimmer.

Compared to NARS Orgasm, the blush in St. Lucia is chalkier, lighter, and dustier.

natural lighting, lightly dusted with a brush on the back of my hand:

the bronzer may sometimes appear reddish, idk why.

on my face it kinda shows well. it was actually dark when i took this so, i swear in person it’s flushier and the contour is more visible.

For 250, this aint bad. I think this one’s going on my to-bring purse! (◡‿◡✿)

Because I’m going makeup hoarding and i pretty much practice with drugstore brands then gradually move on up… (i’m already on the professional level when it comes to eyebrows, lips, and cheeks :p) and i really suck at eyes and the face so…

This primer has gotten a lot of positive reviews, and for the price (P399.75) you get a lot of mega ultra bang for the freaking buck. I did not take pictures of this on my face because the ones i took do it injustice. (◕‿◕✿)

It’s this clear, star-jelly like colloid that smooths on to your face and leaves it poreless and perfect. Makeup tends to hold on better and longer with primers on, so it’s a big must! (. ❛ ◡ ❛.)

I walked past the Garnier stall at the department store and saw only one box left of this. I thought ‘heyyyy this shit sells’ so i got a box. Each eye roll-on costs P299. I still can’t get over the fact that I am not crying over things that I wouldn’t have bought years ago because they weren’t in my budget, but PLEASE PLEASE GOD OF SAVINGS AND MONEYHANDLING PLEASE HELP ME FROM BUYING MORE UNNECESSARY THINGS! (^~^)

The box says:

New Garnier Instant Fairness BB Eye Roll-on is the first BB eye roll-on that gives you an amazing fresh look with a single gesture, and offers you a total solution for a fresh look in a flash.  Enriched with brightening pure lemon essence and caffeine, well-known for its stimulating properties, its non-creasing formula covers the eye contour skin with mineral pigments for a nude coverage and long lasting-wear.  From the first minute, witness the eye contour area looks:

  1. fairer
  2. more radiant
  3. more even-toned
  4. with less dark circles
  5. with less dark spots
  6. fresher
  7. smoother
  8. less tired
  9. more hydrated
  10. tighten

Now i’m pretty sure that number 10 is a typo (looks tighten? really?)

Obviously the box is about 3x as big as the product, which is very similar to their original eye roll-on (the clear one)

15 mL. not bad.

With the same rollerball…

But different product. The consistency is runny but slick and blendable. It’s really light that I wasn’t sure at first if it really did cover my undereye circles (they’re not bad….), but it did!

unblended and…

blended out, you can barely see it but it provides that medium, natural coverage. The only color available was Natural which seemed dark on the box but did blend well with my actual skintone. (◡‿◡✿)

had to pat it down with some powder to set. :D

I had been watching a lot of no-makeup makeup tutorials online and yes, they all had to have foundation. As much as I hate having heavy gunk on my face, I finally gave in (because i have lots of cash to burn? i don’t know, maybe). Revlon is one of the most popular brands when it comes to foundation. The ColorStay and PhotoReady lines had won several awards for being awesome. (◡‿◡✿)

Photo above as reference re: how 004 Nude fares with my actual skin color. The closest match to my skintone in MAC is NW20 (NW25 is a bit too dark, or during this season at least) or NC20 whichever is available (im mostly a neutral anyway). It seems right here but actually Nude is a bit on the darker side in person. But anyway..

Yup. I was torn between getting ColorStay (P825) but it had certain downsides:

  1. Open mouth. The thing has no pump so you pour out the contents on to your sponge/palette. The SA poured some of it on the back of my hand and i remember it being A LOT. More than I can cover my entire face with.
  2. White cast when i tilt my head a little. They gave me the shade Buff which led to the white cast. I tried the next shade (forgot the name) but it was too dark :<.
  3. Too thick? I hate heavy makeup.

So i got PhotoReady instead. According to their website it’s supposed to provide poreless, airbrushed skin in any light. I compared ColorStay and PhotoReady and although PR had some nasty looking shimmer bits in person, it gave the effect that I liked better.

Tiny dollop from the tiny pump.

Spread a wee bit, can’t see the sparklies.

Blended out. Oddly in person i can see the sparkles. On photos I CANNOT!! It just gives off this reflective, healthy sheen! :O that’s why it’s called PhotoReady! *flies away*

(window too bright!)

The shimmer ain’t so nasty though, I might’ve exaggerated a while ago. On my face actually it’s barely noticeable. ( ^ ᴗ^)

Price: P925, all Revlon counters.

i’ve been watching tons of no-makeup makeup looks on youtube and i looked at my poor old makeup collection and i realized that my MAC Select/Sheer Pressed Powder has ran out. I’m not a fan of powders because I hate matte. however, i just couldn’t resist buying this:

IT’S A SMILING CAT!!!( ◕ //◡//◕ )

IMHO, you can cheat your way to looking beautiful in whatever makeup you have as long as you have FLAWLESS SKIN. But… going out in just your bare face will expose it to bad juju so you have to have something on. I normally have BB Cream on, but at times such as this that i get a few zits here and there… there’s nothing like a light coverup to cheat that flawlessness.

=^ ^= it’s tiny, yes but still super duper kyot

the puff applicator is useless imho, i would always prefer using a brush.

Kitty paws <3

Appears incredibly light on my fingers since i have quite pigmented ones, from the blood vessels and all.

ALL EAST ASIAN PRODS — in order of how i put them: (1) Etude House Baby Skin Foundation - to prime with. (2) Etude House Surprise Essence Concealer - for undereye circles, zits, and shadowy areas. (3) Tony Moly Cat’s Wink Clear Pact - to set everything and allow for a medium coverage/even out skintone. (4) Ellefar Hanataka Nose Hightlight - for areas such as forehead, cheekbones, chin, nosebridge - to make the finish less flat and less barbie-fake, and a generic made in china angled blush brush to apply the powders with. added a few dots of Tony Moly Cheek Tint on each cheek and on my lips to avoid pastiness.

i forgot to take a ‘before’ picture but to tell you the truth, i have ~5 disgusting baby zits from a current medication i am taking for managing skin. apparently it makes your zits develop so they won’t ever come back again, ever. not that you can notice them:

forgive my lack of eye makeup and eyebrow grooming lelel

Tony Moly Cat’s Wink Clear Pact is at P448. Apply with a light hand since this may add a white cast, specially under flash. It doesn’t wash off easily though (which is a huge pro for me) and is very matte and may look too flat, alone.

next posts should be more on no-makeup makeup looks, because you know, boys hate makeup. and the denne hates having gunk on her face.

So yes i did a mini Tony Moly haul the other day, which i solely did for the purpose of getting a loyalty card(´∀` ) This is by far the cheapest BB cream i’ve ever come across. I tested it out on the counter and yes, it’s pretty good for the price. It’s not like the other cheap BB creams! This one’s super creamy and dries fast. I hate runny, oily ones!

PRICE: P328 i think?

Generic looking tube. I liked their old one better. At the back the warning says, ‘Discontinue use if sign.” LELS (≧ ∇ ≦)

It doesn’t come with a pump, just a tiny hole in a tip end. Good thing that it’s thick and creamy so it doesn’t easily run from the hole. This hole was sealed in foil upon purchase.

it’s kinda hard to get the product out because of the tiny hole :< but this is a good thing, at least you can control usage.

So this product comes in only one shade, which is called Cotton Beige. It looks lighter here because of the flash but under natural light it’s a few shades darker than me. (; ﹏ ; ) But…

… It easily blends in! Will work on most skin colors. Kinda streaky here because of the lines on my hands, which we don’t really have on our faces ( ・ ᴗ ・)

So overall, this BB cream gives a sheer coverage, which i don’t mind, considering that i’ve no skin problems. Minimally covers pores nor changes skin color. When I buy BB creams, i’m after the skin-restoring ability rather than the coverage. It also has SPF30 PA++ which is noiceee considering how god awful hot it is here. It also smells good, unlike Missha’s balmy BBs.

Besides, for P328, i couldn’t complain. (⌒ヮ⌒)
